Students in the 4th year of compulsory secondary education (ESO) of the Sagrado Corazón school in Bermeo visited the AZTI Tecnalia premises in Derio to learn about the Life GISWASTE project and how to reuse and utilize  dairy, meat and plant  by-products

During this visit by the Bermeo school, as part of the Euroscola contest organised by the European Parliament, the AZTI Tecnalia team presented the Life GISWASTE project to a group of 19 students:a tool that uses technology and geo-location to find the best alternatives to use agri-food waste in the Basque Country. The two alternatives assessed are the creation and biogas (that can help to generate energy, among other uses) or animal feed.

The Life GISWASTE project complies with the objectives of the European Euroscola contest:foster the use of Internet and the new technologies as educational tools and improve the knowledge of young people about the reality of the European Union to get them more involved in the construction of a sustainable Europe.
